overview
Developed as a prequel to the Twisted Lands series and published by Big Fish Games, the project was a Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure in which players investigate the disappearance of a friend’s daughter after becoming stranded on a haunted island.
A content scripting role focused on scene logic, progression, and interactive flow.
Miguel contributed as a scripter, helping implement gameplay sequences and interactions that supported the structure and pacing of the player’s experience.
Scripting of gameplay scenes: Work covered the actions, triggers, and progression logic required for each scene to function as part of the wider adventure.
Nested interactions and mini-scenes: Handled the logic for contained sub-scenes and the relationships between scenes, objects, and interactive elements.
Engine workflows: Working extensively with the internal Quest Editor gave him deeper insight into how the underlying systems operated, knowledge that later proved valuable when contributing more directly to engine-related tasks.
The project was an important step in Miguel’s early career, combining content implementation with technical problem-solving and expanding his familiarity with the tools and systems behind Alawar’s adventure game production.
