overview
Helped build and operate the backend and client/server systems as a full-stack developer behind a fast-paced real-time PvP mobile game, while supporting live operations in production.
Worked in C++, Python, and Torquescript.
Backend focus: Work centered on building and maintaining client/server functionality for a real-time multiplayer environment, with responsibilities that crossed gameplay-facing systems and backend services. Work involved AWS, Redis, and Grafana.
Clan systems: Miguel was instrumental in the development of the game’s Clan feature, which allowed players to join and leave guilds, invite other users, contribute toward shared reward goals, and interact through social features built around coordination and progression.
Live operations: In addition to feature implementation, the role included live ops support such as building tools and a dashboard for the support team to be able to better communicate with players, look at logs, grant rewards, etc.
