Miguel Casillas

overview

This was Miguel’s first project in the games industry. Princess Isabella: A Witch’s Curse for iPad, developed by Gogii Games and published by Big Fish Games, is a Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure built around puzzle-solving, minigames, and narrative-driven exploration.

An early gameplay programming role with broad technical responsibilities.
Miguel contributed across implementation, bug fixing, and feature development, supporting both the core game experience and platform-specific requirements around the product’s release.

Gameplay Programming across a large content driven title: His work supported a game spanning 135 scenes and 15 unique minigames, requiring reliable implementation across a wide variety of interactive scenarios.

Bug fixing, optimization, and feature development: In addition to moment-to-moment gameplay work, he implemented new functionality and helped improve the game’s overall stability and completeness.

Release related and platform specific systems: His contributions extended beyond the core game itself, including work related to a freemium version, in-app store functionality, and integration with external publishing libraries.

The project was a formative starting point in Miguel’s career, not only as his first shipped game but also as an early demonstration of adaptability. Working within an unfamiliar studio environment and overcoming language barriers in an international team, he was still able to deliver effectively and establish the foundation for the projects that followed.
